Application
ZX Octane 9062 is an an organometallic antiknock additive which contains 62% by weight of methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl, a manganese based gasoline octane enhancer.
 
ZX Octane 9062 is intended for use in unleaded gasoline by refineries, gasoline blenders and distributors as well as aftermarket use applications. It has been used for over 30 years as a highly efficient octane improver in many countries around the world.
 
ZX Octane 9062 can be used in refinery applications as a highly cost effective additive to adjust and increase the octane number to required specifications.Besides increasing the octane number, the additive has shown to reduce the amount of NOX and carbon monoxide emissions and increase vehicle power.
 
If blended into unleaded gasoline to be used in vehicles equipped with catalytic converters the maximum recommended treat rate is 18 mg of manganese per liter. At this treat rate octane number increases of up to 3 RON can be achieved depending on the initial octane rating of the fuel.
 
If used in aftermarket applications treat rates between 80 and 300 ppmv of ZX Octane 9062 have shown to be effective. Higher application can be used for racing applications.
 
ZX Octane 9062 can not be used for on-road use applications in the United States. ZX Octane 9062 can be diluted with various solvents ranging from kerosene and naphtha to toluene and xylene. ZX Octane 9062 can be used in conjunction with ZX Octane 9200 to achieve even higher octane increases.
